This Flying Geese square is located on the barn at the Creamer’s Field Wildlife Refuge in Fairbanks, Alaska. The barn was built in 1938 for the original dairy, which is now home to thousands of Canada geese, ducks, trumpeter swans, and Sandhill cranes every spring and fall. This barn quilt is the first location on the new Far North Quilt Trail. Of note, the refuge is only a mile from the city center. The trail is developing further in 2021 and you’ll be sure to find more details about it here soon.
